Kentucky Fund:
Caring for the Commonwealth
in Word and Deed
Simon Leonard Renfro (1891-1956), Sandra Leslie Renfro’s grandfather, was a businessman turned evangelist from the hills of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
“S.L.” founded Renfro Supply, a wholesale grocery distribution company in 1922, along with Renfro Lumber and Renfro Oil & Gas. He gave his life to Christ at 33 years of age, and taught himself the Bible while establishing First Methodist Church of Williamsburg. S.L. was known to preach to the poor throughout the hillsides of Kentucky and brought many home for supper with his wife and ten children.
S.L. was a prolific writer, and published Renfro Revelations, which he called a “magazette,” that covered business and politics from a Christian worldview.
Subsequent to an encounter with the living God while living a worldly life in SouthTexas, Sandra discovered her spiritual legacy in her grandfather. It was upon finding a collection of S.L.’s sermons in his old desk at Renfro Supply that she heard the Lord’s call to ministry. So, she sold everything and followed Jesus to Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
This special fund was established to fund all Kentucky projects to bring Christ in Word and Deed across the Commonwealth. Sandra joins James Byron Crouse III “Jay” in marriage and ministry to the needs of Kentuckians in October 2026. Jay, an Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary alumnus, carries the DNA of his forefathers who impacted the world for Christ. Jay carries his passion for bringing the Lord’s Prayer to life by ushering the Kingdom of God into the earth for the people of Kentucky.
“Your faithfulness continues throughout generations…” Psalm 119:90

Sandra Leslie Renfro and James Byron Crouse are continuing the legacies of their grandfathers by sharing the gospel and feeding the poor in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
-
S.L.’s passion for the Bible continues as Sandra and Jay join a dedicated team of prophetic leaders and prayer warriors who travel across the Commonwealth to bring a Christ-centered worldview back to Kentuckians.
-
S.L. was determined to provide good food to his customers across the Commonwealth. Sandra hopes to join the efforts of entrepreneurs like the Renfro Supply Company to eliminate Kentucky “food deserts.” Food deserts are generally defined as regions that lack access to supermarkets and affordable, healthy foods, particularly in low-income communities.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Holy Bible is the Word of God, living and active today and able to discern the thoughts of the heart and empower the actions of people from every tribe and every nation in the world. We believe in the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that we have full access to them through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary. We value the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit gives gifts to every believer for their good, the good of others and to the glory of God. We know that Christ came, Christ died and Christ will come again, and it is our mission to make disciples of all nations to prepare the Bride of Christ for her Bridegroom upon His return. We understand that God speaks primarily through His written Word, and it is our mission to communicate His Word with integrity, authority and compassion. Our heart’s desire is for people to know God for who He really is:
“Yes, I’ll marry you and neither leave you nor let you go. You’ll know me, God, for who I really am.”
